Keep Pearland Beautiful began community cleanups in 1982 to help change the stigma that cleaning up litter is “not my responsibility.” Knowing that 1 in 4 Texans admit to littering gives KPB more reason than ever to educate the community and arrange community wide cleanups in an effort to raise everyone’s awareness about litter in Pearland. Keep Pearland Beautiful strives to make Pearland the cleanest and most beautiful city in Texas.
Don't miss these other great opportunities to volunteer!
Cigarette litter hurts Pearland in numerous ways. To help educate the public Keep Pearland Beautiful is hosting its annual Cigarette Litter Awareness Day in February. At noon volunteers will meet at the Delores Fenwick Nature Center, 5750 Magnolia Parkway, to eat lunch and receive a safety briefing. Then groups will be assigned to pick up cigarette litter at specific intersections around Pearland. In 2019 volunteers picked up 21,898 cigarette butts.
The Pearland Waterways Clean program provides support and supplies for waterway cleanup at Mary’s Creek. This program is open to ALL volunteers 14 years old and up. Thanks to our sponsors H-E-B and Keep Texas Beautiful.
The Adopt-A-Spot program provides a volunteer opportunity, for groups, to adopt a public area for litter reduction and beautification.
