The Pearland Waterways Cleanup event began in 2018 as a way to focus cleanup efforts on the creeks throughout Pearland. When it comes to litter, waterways are typically where we see the biggest problems. Any excess water on our streets collects litter as it flows down to storm drains and continues on to our creeks. Also, any trash that has made its way to waterways in areas to the north will eventually flow to Pearland. These two issues combined create huge amounts of litter in our waterways.

Cleanup events, like the spring Pearland Waterways Cleanup and the quarterly Adopt-A-Spot cleanups, can help make Pearland a cleaner and greener space. This not only benefits our residents and local wildlife, but all of the waterways our creeks eventually flow into.
