Education and Outreach Programs

Have KPB staff stop by your school, group or civic organization and talk “trash”. KPB presents TEKs based activities, read stories, and talk about recycling and/or litter prevention with children.  Presenters can travel from class to class to do hands-on activities that children of all ages will enjoy.

Assembly Topics:

  • Recycling
  • Litter Prevention
  • Sustainability
  • Resources
  • The Benefit of Trees
  • Composting (worm composting too!)
  • Yardwise Yard Care
  • Watershed Enviroscape Demonstration

Prizes and Judges:

KPB can provide prizes and judges for essay and art contests with environmental themes.

KIPPERS:

The KIPPERS (Kids in Pearland Preserving the Environment through Responsible Service) are Pearland middle school aged children who do service projects and learn about taking care of our environment.

Environmental Fair:

The free family friendly fair is held every spring. This fair is a partnership between the City of Pearland, the KIPPERS, and KPB.

Waste in Place Lesson Plan Activity in a Box:

Everything a teacher needs for lessons on a variety of environmental topics, with a big emphasis on recycling.   A complete list of activities can be found on this reservation form.  Depending on availability of KPB educators, KPB is willing to come visit your classroom and present these activities.

Enviroscapes:

Keep Pearland Beautiful maintains two different Enviroscape Models that contain everything a teacher needs to do a lesson or series of lessons on the following topics:

  • Watersheds
  • Pollution
  • Landfills vs. Dumps

The enviroscapes are ready to be used with activities that can be adapted for use with any grade level and can be checked out by any teacher. Please call  (281) 489-2795 or use the reservation form on our website. Please allow two weeks for delivery of an activity to your school.  Call the office if you wish to have a KPB staff member assist with this activity.
